i thought this was fixed (i might be wrong)
but hidden views are still activated on startup

switching to java - activates hidden hierarchy view

look at the trace - hierarchy view is activated even though it is hidden.
the trace was taken on an empty workspace.
the scenario was: switching from resource to java perspective

workspace))

This was fixed. See bug 27147.
Which build are you using? The fix is in the build from 20021203.

The classes Perspective, PerspectivePresentation, WorkbenchPage were released 
as a fix for bug 27729 but the comment is pointing to this bug instead (my 
mistake).
