Description Kenneth Styrberg CLA 2009-05-13 17:41:46 EDT
Build ID: 3.5M7

Steps To Reproduce:
Having a menu contribution that is visibleWhen a specific active editor is visible does not work as expected.

When the editor is active the menu item shows ok. And when the editor is minimized the menu item is hidden as expected, but when the editor is restored I expect the menu item to show but it does not until the editor is activated(focused).

This is inconsistent, for the menu item is not hidden just because the editor looses focus only when it's minimized, so I expect the menu to appear as soon as my editor is visible (and not focused).

More information:
I used the example in "Eclipse Plug-ins" book p.229 as reference to my tests.

Eric, does this look like your "no active editor when minimized" issue?

Sounds suspiciously similar...I'll take a look.

After kicking it around I'd say 'yes'. Apparently restoring the editor area does not place the editor back into the 'evaluation context'.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
