If for some reason you cannot locate a CVS host while trying to browse it in 
the CVS repo view, it seems that the repo location is marked as invalid and any 
further attempt to use it gets you a "cannot locate host" dialog.  
Unfortunately, it was just that I had not connected via VPN.  I connected but 
there was no (obvious) way to cause the location to retry.  I could not discard 
th elocation and create a new one since there were projects using it.  In the 
end I had to exit Eclipse and restart.
