Description Thomas Hallgren CLA 2009-03-31 15:47:29 EDT
Projects participating in Galileo are currently required to provide a releng specific map file so that Babel can find the source of the included features and bundles. This is of course great if you maintain such a map.

One of the advantages with Buckminster is that you don't need such a map. Instead, we use a CQUERY/RMAP combination to find and materialize everything into a workspace.

I think it would be great if Babel could support this and provide Buckminster resolution as an alternative to the releng maps.

The babel team is currently looking into moving away from map files as the only way to participate in Babel. However it is unlikely that we will be able to have anything tested and working before the upcoming Galileo release.

I am going to tag this bug a 'helpwanted' for now, to see if anyone can provide a patch for integration with Buckminster.
