Investigate the effort will it be required for the command framework to fill a menu/toolbar with ParameterizedCommand and a list of parameters. In the above example, the user should be able to specify the command id(showPerspective) & a list of parameter values (thru a class - like the one we use for key bindings). So that the plugin.xml is simple and the values are dynamic.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
