if I import a reactor project (including parents), they seem to be opened in reverse order to the reactor (this is anecdotal, I haven't analysed in detail).

This causes a lot of classpath errors since if the local repository is clean the other artifacts that they depend on cannot be found. Once open, you have to refresh the poms to get them all to build again. This increases the time to import a project significantly.
