I've used the File > Import > Checkout Maven Project wizard to check out http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/maven/plugins/trunk/maven-site-plugin/

After running validate, process-resources and process-test-resources, I noticed that the download of some artifacts from a different, unrelated, project in my workspace was attempted. 

The artifacts are available only on my local repository and not on the local or remote repositories and are not SNAPSHOTs.
