Consider: select Help > About > Plug-in Details. You're presented with a large list of plug-ins. Finding the plug-in in which you are interested can often be frustrating. I now realize what is missing: a search box. I'd love to see a text box in those two dialog boxes that lets me filter the list of results (a la FilteredSelectionDialog). Hope this is clear enough.
Does Ctrl+Shift+A help you? It's like Ctrl+Shift+T but for plug-in related artifacts.
It does not, because this is not a during-plug-in-development issue, this is an "I want to report a bug against pydev; what version is it?"-issue.
(In reply to comment #1) > Does Ctrl+Shift+A help you? Chris, That won't work in the Java IDE. It would require the PDE to work
This is a good idea, no guarantees for 3.5, but I'm marking 3.5 for now to keep on the radar because we are doing other work in the about dialog (bug #246875), and that issue came up there, too.
Renaming to be more general...
Removing 3.5 target milestone. We are in the end-game now. Please have a look and decide if this should be targeted at 3.6.
assigning milestone for investigation in 3.6
I think if we do anything for 3.6, it will be a filter for the specific page in question. Making title more specific (again). I'd like to see filters used for all install page lists, (or for that matter for any list shown in eclipse!) but the more general solutions aren't going to happen in 3.6, too many other things going on.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
