Created attachment 121001 [details] 1. Open a file Build ID: M20080911-1700 Steps To Reproduce: 1. Launch Eclipse 2. Open a file (screenshot 1) 3. Maximize the file window (screenshot 2) 4. Open another perspective (screenshot 3) 5. Close the file (screenshot 4) 6. Return to the first perspective (screenshot 5) -> You've got an empty Eclipse window and it's not user-friendly More information: Eclipse should restore the windows of a perspective when you go back to this perspective and there is no file open. (screenshot 6) You can notice that when you are in a perspective, if you maximize the file window and then you close all the files, Eclipse automatically restore the windows.

I agree that this would be nice but I'm swamped at the moment. If anyone would like to contribute a patch addressing this I'd be more than happy to look at it...
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
