Description Nick Edgar CLA 2001-10-10 22:39:13 EDT
I wanted to save a file which I had open in an editor to another name in the file system (not the workspace).
This is not easy.

File / Save As... doesn't work - it saves only to the workspace.

Choosing File / Export when the editor is active makes you choose which resources you want to export from the whole workspace.
You have to manually drill down and select the file.

There should be a quick way to get to a filesystem chooser from File / Save As...

NOTES:

NE (07/16/01 4:27:26 PM)
Can choose the file in the Navigator or Packages view, then choose File / Export... / File system / Browse / pick dir / Finish.
But this takes many steps, requires a save first (which can defeat the purpose of doing a save as),
and the intuitive command to use is Save As... , not Export...

There are other ways to get a file into the filesystem, e.g. drag and drop.
Not critical for 2.0.
But, if someone in the OS community wants to help...
