Provide Typesetting Capabilities in BIRT

BIRT does a good job belonging reports.

By the way, there is no support in the Eclipse ecosystem for professional typesetting.
BIRT should provide typesetting capabilities to enable more sophisticated layout, print and export operations in technical applications.

At the moment I see following standards / quasi standards as candidates:
- XSL-FO
- LaTeX
- MathML

Where both already have well working implementations, they are hard to implement in an Eclipse Application for legal or technical reasons.

To be future safe, I suggest to build a layout-model (probably ecore-based) where any application model could be transformed into.

We talked about this topic with Jason at the Eclipse Summit Europe 2008.

+1 to start a dicsussion of usage description from a report writer perspective. It will be a great help for designing the designer UI as well as report outputs (in HTML, postscript, pdf, excel).

Also need to condsider i18n and Right to Left support.
