I-200221031 linux-gtk:

this seems to be due to the new tree widget code:

1) Make sure the option Java :: Link Pacakge Explorer selection to active editor
   is disabled.
2) Open a file in the Editor using Ctrl-Shift-T
3) Select 'Show in Package Explorer' from the editor's context menu.
4) Observe that the file is selected, but not revealed.

Fixed in HEAD. Fix should be available in version >v2114
