Description Chris Conway CLA 2008-11-19 15:57:37 EST
Build ID: M20080911-1700

Path variables are often used for local project configuration (e.g., the location of an external library). In order to customize a path variable, the user must go to Window -> Preferences -> General -> Workspace -> Linked Resources and edit the variable using the UI.

It should be possible to designate a local properties file as the source of path variable values. This would simplify the process of local configuration and make it possible to share these properties between, e.g., Eclipse and Ant.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
