On Windows XP (didn't try any other OS) the DateTime control accentuates the current date using a red rectangle. (See SWT snippet 250)

It would be more user friendly if it was possible to suppress the current day rectangle as often the current date is irrelevant and could even confuse users.

Good point.

I checked quickly and it is easy to fix in win32 using:
#define MCS_NOTODAYCIRCLE 0x0008

A better solution would be adding new API to enable/disable this option. Or even better, API that lets you add a visual marker to any day in the calendar.
In win32 i think this can be done with MCS_NOTODAYCIRCLE and MCM_SETTODAY.
In gtk i think this can be done with gtk_calendar_mark_day.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
