Description w.pasman CLA 2008-11-06 04:11:51 EST
It takes quite a while to boot Eclipse. So I usually continue working on another project eg typing text in some word document
When Eclipse finally has loaded it suddenly grabs the focus and my last ten or so keystrokes targeted at the word document end up somewhere in Eclipse damaging something there. Typically it screws up the boot because it tries to load a non-existent project (because the filename is messed up) after which I can quit and restart Eclipse again.....

This focus grabbing after loading causes damage and is very user unfriendly.
Can this please be removed?

I have seen others also complain about this, e.g. http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=78588

Could this be picked up by someone? This bug is still bugging me daily :-(

This isn't a high priority bug for us. Submitting a patch might increase the probability of this bug fixed in 3.7

A patch? I am pretty sure that there is just one line of code, with something like "grabfocus", that has to be removed...

Which build are you using? This doesn't seem to happen in Helios.

Yes, I am very happy that this problem has been solved in Helios. At least it did not happen to me anymore since I moved to Helios. Thanks!!!
