Description Mik Kersten CLA 2008-10-29 16:47:23 EDT
We have other kinds of ALM repositories that extend tasktop and require the facilities that we currently provide in the Task Repositories abstraction, i.e.:
* Connectivity credentials and settings such as proxies and httpauth
* Repository connection testing and state
* Repository management via the Task Repositories view

Other repositories to consider are:
* Calendars
* Build servers
* Test servers

Also a valid feature for the Industrail SQL Connector for Mylyn, anything in a database and useful inside Eclipse as container for task context can be connected to.

Remy, I couldn't quite figure out how connections or accounts are currently persisted by ECF. A generalized repositories view might provide a good entry point for users to manage those.

They're not persisted at the moment so it would've been impossible for you to figure it out. ;) There are some outstanding requests about this like bug 166670 and bug 247110.

This does seem like a noble cause.

I am taking this story of the milestone. The goal for Helios is to complete bug 302907 to improve the presentation of the current Task Repositories view and we will consider additional generalization, e.g. a common navigator based content provider in the next release cycle.

We are not planning to do any additional work than what has been completed as part of bug 318097. Once the Team Repositories view is a full replacement for the Task Repositories view we are planning to deprecate it (bug 336427).
