Description Philipe Mulet CLA 2001-10-10 22:38:09 EDT
There is little you can do from a selected task, except navigating. It would be nice for example to be able to copy/paste from tasks.

Minimally we should copy the description. Here is a posting from the newsgroup
by a user who is frustrated with long descriptions for non-editable tasks:

Hello All,

1. Does anyone know of a way to find the Tasks in a file format
somewhere? Some tasks are too long to see in the description field or
the context help. This is a major pain.
2. Is there a bug report/feature request for the following: cut &
paste from the task list, save tasks to a file, expand task view table
cells vertically (so I can see all the text)?

This used to be a problem in VAJ, too, when you couldn't read the whole
error. It's essential that we be able to see what is wrong if we're to
fix it.

For info, you can currently drag & drop from the tasks view.
If cut/copy/paste support is added, might want to look at the drag/drop support
to ensure consistency (or maybe to provide something different).
Here is an example of the report that the drag/drop produces (Bugzilla is
adding the extra line breaks):

Report for 2 markers:
Marker 1:

Resource: /org.eclipse.swt.examples.controls/org/eclipse/swt/examples/controls/C
ontrolView.java, Line: 8
Message: The import org.eclipse.swt.examples.controlexample cannot be resolved
  Marker type: org.eclipse.jdt.core.problem
  Priority: Normal

Marker 2:

Resource: /org.eclipse.swt.examples.controls/org/eclipse/swt/examples/controls/C
ontrolView.java, Line: 21
Message: ControlExample cannot be resolved (or is not a valid type) for the
field ControlView.instance
  Marker type: org.eclipse.jdt.core.problem
  Priority: Normal

Obsolete. This was fixed a while ago.
