Steps To Reproduce:
The cvs plugin permits a global setting of CVS_SERVER for "ext" connections.

Git has a feature to mimic cvs repositories which involves setting CVS_SERVER to "git-cvsserver".

To mix repository types, its necessary to specify the value to use for each repository independently.

cvs -d ":ext;CVS_SERVER=git-cvsserver:user@server/path/repo.git" co <HEAD_name>

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
