Build ID: M20080911-1700 Steps To Reproduce: none More information: It would be nice if there would be a possibility to only show the progress dialog (e.g. if using IProgressService.showInDialog()), when the job is about to run. At the moment, the dialog opens and marks the job as waiting if it is delayed. But jobs with a delay are (often) ment to be canceled if another event occures within the delay. This would result in opening and closing dialogs which confuses users. I know that there are workarounds but all of them i know are not really satisfying. Those which would be are all not possible since the interesting methods of Job are all final. Hence, a flag which indicates to show the dialog only if the job is running (no matter whether using Job.setUser() or IProgressService.showInDialog()) would simplify much.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
