Description Markus Kuppe CLA 2008-09-26 11:57:10 EDT
org.eclipse.ui.internal.IWorkbenchGraphicConstants as well as org.eclipse.ui.internal.WorkbenchImages should be moved to exported packages to allow other bundles to reuse icons, e.g. Bug #248103

Tod, I recall you did a round of determining which images should go into the public shared images set. What are your thoughts on these?

Clearly one issue is that by making them public API, we say they'll be there forever. On the other hand, reusing images increases consistency in eclipse based apps.
Comment 2 Tod Creasey CLA 2008-10-02 10:58:09 EDT
We expanded SharedImages significantly in 3.4 but we did not include all of them - just the ones that were clearly worth keeping as API.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
