Probably an Eclipse or Grid Project view issue, but currently the filtering in the Grid Project view is useless for AWS AMIs:

it would be nice to be able to search through the list of AMI's the standard way, just by typing some letters of the name (say, "ubuntu"). This doesn't work here because the string has to match the _beginning_ of the name of the displayed object (and there is a horrible hash there...)

Such a feature sounds good to me. Maybe like a Mylyn context or a search in the preferences or a strg+j search in the text editor.
