+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #240759 +++ Build ID: 3.4 ganymede j2ee Steps To Reproduce: (SVN, or CVS project) 1.Edit a file 2. In the package explorer it shows up decorated with a little star for modified (if configured to do so) 3. but the editor tab icon doesn't show the star icon (though if warnings/errors are present it shows the overlaid warning icon) More information:
afaik Team's UI doesn't provide any icon/text decorations in the editor's tab. Is the star icon (an outgoing change) you mention the only thing you would like to see there? What about other label decorations available?
It would make sense to me that the icon in the editor tab should look exactly like the icon in the navigator/package explorer view. So I guess label decorations should be applied the same way they are in the package/navigator views. It could provide useful additional info and it would be nice to be able to see that an editor has changed and is not commited, similar to how we can see that it is edited and not saved... This may be an enhancement rather than a bug, I am not sure.
Boris as you're currently triaging UI bugs, could you comment on this? Is it possible to decorate an editor's tab the way Jorgen asks?
We don't support this right now, the editor tab icon is provided by the editor directly. You could make this an enhancement request to show decorated icons in the editor tabs.
updated severity to enhancement.
Pinging on the bug because it changed while Bugzilla e-mail notifications were turned off. Please look at this bug (click on "View Bug Activity" under "Related actions") to see what the change was.
(In reply to comment #4) > You could make this an enhancement request to show decorated icons in > the editor tabs. Wouldn't that be a request to Platform UI?
Moving to UI for comment.
