It would be nice to be able to set the background color of the ExpandItem of the ExpandBar.

do you want set the background of the body or the header ?
you can change the background of the body by changing the background of the control that goes in the item.

The item has two parts: the header and the body.

Which one do you want to change the background color ?

I want to change header color, there is no problem with body color.

I tried setting the background color of all of ExpandBar, ExpandItem and the surrounding Composite, but the background of the ExpandBar remains grey. (On Linux 64bit, SWT 3.6.1.)

+1 on wanting this feature. It is not working on Mac Catalina. Setting the background property of ExpandBar does nothing.

+1 It would be great to be able to do this. Currently not working for us in macOS either.
