Description Esteban Dugueperoux CLA 2008-07-01 08:32:27 EDT
I open Contact view, I connect me to a provider (MSN or Yahoo) , all works fine except performance, eclipse use in average 50% of my CPU (Core Duo) then when I disconnect me from provider all become back normally.

Does it happen with MSN or Y!M? Please confirm which one is the cause. Or are you saying they both have this error?

Yes both provider provoke this CPU overhead.
What others informations can I provide to help correct this bug?
How can I find which ECF component is responsible of this bug?

Thanks.

For the MSN problem, please see bug 238970.(In reply to comment #1)

It's in the right component so I wouldn't worry about it.

FWIW, I use the Yahoo IM plugin frequently, and have not seen this. What version of Eclipse and JRE (and which one...i.e. Sun, IBM, etc) are you seeing this with?

To correct MSN privoder CPU overhead use, I have tested the fix of bug 238970 by replace my org.eclipse.ecf.protocol.msn_1.2.0.v20080623-0046.jar in plugins directory by org.eclipse.ecf.protocol.msn_1.2.0.200806301846.jar but at eclipse reloading I have messages in Error Log view (see attached file).
Then I can't test this plugin.

And for yahoo, I have retested I haven't again the bug sorry.

Sorry, I'm not really familiar with that error. Maybe you can comment on the other bug and see how Anders replaced his jars.

I'm marking this as a duplicate of the MSN one then.
