Description Chris Yu CLA 2002-09-18 00:43:52 EDT
Now with version 2.0.1, the shortcut key of Content Assist is Ctrl+space.

But in China, Japan and Korea, maybe other counties, Ctrl+Space is
the default shortcut key to invoke the system input method to input local char.

On both Windows and unix systems.

So I must use the menu when i need Content Assist.

I wonder if you could kindly change the shortcut key for it, or make shortcut
key custimizable.

Another shortcut keys used by system are Shift+Space,Ctrl+Shift+Space, etc..

Besides Eclipse supports Chinese very well.

Thank you for your great job.

Regards

Chris Yu

We hope to have the time to implement customization of keybinding soon but I am
not sure when.

About the problem you have with Ctrl+Space. This is defined in the file
plugins/org.eclipse.jdt.ui/plugin.xml. You can change it for now.

There is already one entry for "zh_CN" defining "Alt+/" instead of Ctrl+Space.
Please could you let me know if it works? What is the locale in your machine?
Is is shown in the dialog "File->Import->External Plugins and Fragments->Next".

in version 2.1 M5, key bindings are fully customizable.
as well, chinese (locale = "zh_CN") have the default keys for content assist
set to: "Alt+/" and "Alt+?"
