It would be nice to have a filter for those.

I'd like to contribute a patch for this. To test, I could use at least one completed milestone on http://mylyn.eclipse.org/tractest to verify functionality so I can write the necessary changes for TracWebClient. It looks like it puts complete and incomplete milestones in separate option groups, so I can have it pick the one corresponding to incomplete milestones. This will work as long as my assumption that complete and incomplete groups are always listed in the same order, is valid.

For TracXmlRpcClient all it needs is a tweak to updateAttributes to skip over completed milestones.

Great to hear that you are working on a patch. I have marked "Completed Milestone" in the test repository as completed. I don't think that removing completed milestones from the data model is desirable. Instead I think it would make sense if this was presented differently in the UI, e.g. group and list uncompleted milestones first as suggested on bug 293403.

Steffen: ok that sounds good. So is the consensus then that the desired implementation is to not filter out completed milestones, but order them according to due date/no due date/completed, in that order?

Not sure what the process is, but go ahead and reassign to me if that's appropriate, because it won't let me do it myself.
Comment 6 Steffen Pingel CLA 2009-11-16 13:11:02 EST
The ordering should match the web interface if possible. Other than that ordering by due date sounds sensible.

I have assigned the bug to you.
