The screen shot attachments with the coloured annotations are really nice. It would be great to also have text annotations, ideally coloured and balloon style.
+1 This would be useful.
We've discussed this briefly before, and I was afraid this could bloat the UI. But if there is demand for it, I can start to prototype something. I particularly liked the balloon suggestion because it helps to distinguish the text from content behind it.

What I did currently: I marked interesting points which different colours and then explained the colours in the text description. Having (balloon) text would make this one step. Thanks, Jörg
I like the balloon idea too. But wouldn't that be a lot of drawing work? Not that I want to discourage cool drawing work :) Perhaps just text in rectangles would be a good start?

The connection to the place where the text applies could be drawn by hand. Approach by small steps is better than doing one huge step.
