When deleting a filter pool the property view refreshes constantly until the Delete is complete. The Delete also takes a while depending on how many filters are in that filter pool. I was waiting 2 mins when I had about 4 filters which were all expanded. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure the Properties View is visible. 2. Click on the down arrow icon in the Remote Systems view and select "Show Filter Pools". 3. Select your Local connections files filter pool. 4. Press delete. --> Properties view continuously refreshes until the delete is done. -----------Enter bugs above this line----------- TM 3.0RC1 Testing installation : eclipse-SDK-3.4M7 RSE install : Dev Driver java.runtime : Sun 1.5.0_11-b03 os.name: : Windows XP, Service Pack 2 ------------------------------------------------
Depending on the risk of the fix I'd probably be OK with deferring this to 3.0.1 since our users typically don't ever see the filter pools.
Moving non-UI, non-API bugs to M7
CQ:WIND00199243 See also bug 196025. When a filter pool is deleted in our product, we see the connection's context menu enlarge and shrink multiple times, which looks extremely disconcerting. Also, the TWO MINUTE delay experienced by Kevin is simply not acceptable. Marking Major since having to wait two minutes after deleting a filter pool is not acceptable, and assigning to the performance milestone (M7). In the ideal case, we would want to hide all UI contributions related to filter pools in our product, as per bug 305966. At the minimum, this performance issue needs to be fixed.
Performance related issues like this are good candidates for 3.2RC1. Please consider.
This did not go into RC1, please adjust the target milestone.
Ping, is this still realistic to get in 3.2.2+ ?
Is this bug maybe related to bug 358999 fixed recently ("Deleting multiple connections takes long time") ?
