3.4 M7 0501-0100 The accessibility dialog for columns only allows you to see the change you made once you dismiss the dialog. Plus because <return> dismisses the dialog, it favours a "make one change see what happened" workflow. But frequently when you change the width of one column, you're likely to also want to change the width of others, since there's only so much space to go around. An "Apply" button could help, or we could just make the change immediately as a preview as you type (with cancel reverting). A more complex UI would involve a table showing pairs source column name and width.
Should we do this for 3.4?
Seems a good candidate as its localized and new function. Note as per our discussion, a [x] Preview checkbox would be better workflow than Apply.
Kevin, I don't have any time left to do this for 3.4 - feel free to remove the target milestone if you don't have time for it either.
Ran out of time for 3.4, marking for 3.5
Removing 3.5 target milestone. We are in the end-game now. Please have a look and decide if this should be targeted at 3.6.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
