Currently, the .log file continues to grow unrestrictedly. Perhaps an option 
could be added to set a maximum .log file size, after which the .log file will 
be cleared? Or perhaps an option to clear .log file entries after n days?

Would be willing to consider a patch in this area.
Point of reference: logging code is done in Main, DefaultLog, and EclipseLog
classes.
