Description Simon Arsenault CLA 2002-08-21 11:33:16 EDT
See bug 21040 for more details.

We need to decided whether the code changes done in EditorRegistryReaded,
EditorRegistry, and EditorFileMapping should be ported to the 2.1 stream or
whether this experimental api should be drop, and another more comprehensive
solution implemented

This is NOT a duplicate. This is a place holder bug report to remind us about
the experimental fix that was placed in the 2.0.1 stream. A decision needs to
be made whether to keep this experimental fix and if so, then move the code to
the 2.1 stream. Or come up with a much better solution.

2.0.1 is long since released.

Simon is this an issue in R3.0 for you? If so please re-open

This was a long time ago. There was a requirement from WSADIE to override the
default editor. I'm not sure if that it still required. I do not think this
code was ever released in 2.1 and given that wsadie just shipped on 2.1 and
never asked for this feature... (maybe they found another workaround or its
just not needed anymore).

I would suggest talking with Lorne Parsons and/or Greg Adams. You can point
them to bug 21040 to refresh their memories about this issue.
