when working with a workspace with a large number of changes to a remote repository it would be good to be able to search within only the changed files (e.g. for stray printlns, or XXX/TODO markers)

the workaround is to create a patch and then textually search that, but it would be very neat to have this integrated into the synchronization view

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
