Not sure if this is platform UI or JDT UI code:

In high contrast mode, open code assist from java source.

Observe: there doesn't appear to be a list selection.

However, if you keyboard up/down it you'll see evidence that there is in fact a selection (e.g. you get description text for an item).

If you press F2 the selection appears properly.

I know Kim filed some similar bugs (see bug 220642, bug 220644, and bug 220646), I don't know if they're related to this though.
