While I see a way to create patches (under right click->Team) I don't see a
mechanism for applying patches from within Eclipse. If its there, it needs to be
put in a more obvious place. I had somebody else look too and they couldn't find
it (though they thought they'd used it before).

There is a 'Compare with patch' command in the context menu.

I'm guessing this allows me to go through and select changes to apply?

The problem is that this does not directly represent the user's goal (apply a
patch), but instead steers through a task that I, at least, would never have
thought of as a necessary component of the goal. I suspect basic usability
testing would reveal that many non-Eclipse-initiated Java programmers would not
find this an obvious component task (though I could be wrong, it could be my
open source experience with applying patches leaking through and colouring the
way I perceive the interface)
