In my opinion the save file operation should be a higher priority task than server publish, this is especially true as there seems to be some threading issues on the  publish server that result in you having to kill eclipse without being able to save changes to a file. Same issue is experienced on windows platform.

You're going to have to be a lot more specific with your bug reporting Geoff.

What components do you have installed?  What server publish task?  Perhaps you could list some steps for us to reproduce?  For an idea of your configuration, go to the Help>About dialog>Configuration Details.  Please attach that file to this bug report.
