When editing an existing .java file that I created, I somehow managed to get into a state where the following dialog popped up: "Resource is out of sync with the file system: /EasterDate/easter/CVS/Entries." Reason: Resource is out of sync with the file system: /EasterDate/easter/CVS/Entries. That's a wonderful reason. However, now that I'm in that state, it's not obvious that I can do *anything* - any UI action involving the context menu causes the same dialog to pop up again. I was able to click off the .java file and onto the project. From there, I was able to do a Refresh and things appeared to be back to normal. Since that's the case, maybe when the IDE gets into this state it should automatically refresh - that makes more sense than telling me some random file is out of sync whenever I open the context menu. (I was playing around with changing from Binary to -ko for the resources in question - that might have had something to do with the root cause of things being out of sync.)
Out-of sync situations are usually caused by the use of an external tool. Did you use an external cvs tool on the project in question?
No, I used no tools other than the IDE.
