Hi,
I have some documentation describing XML elements. For this reason some topics 
in my ToC reference directly these elements.
For example, one of my topic is:
<topic label="&lt;target&gt;" href="gettingstarted/html/index-20.htm"/>
In this case, the topic link is created in the ToC but the label is not visible.
An other example:
<topic label="&lt;font&gt;" href="gettingstarted/html/index-22.htm"/>
In this case, it is worse:
   - the topic link is created in the ToC but the label is not visible
   - the fonts change (they appear bigger) in the ToC!
The only way I found to work around is by removing the &lt; and &gt; entities 
surrounding my topic labels.
Any other suggestion or idea?

This is a valid bug and I can't think of a workaround. 
The fix is relatively easy though.
