Eclipse 2.0 If I start Eclipse and while the splash screen is up give focus to another application, Eclipse will open without focus, but in front of my other application. This can be frustrating, because sometimes you have to click a few times between Eclipse and the other application to get focus & input working again. I would expect that if I give focus to another application, Eclipse will open behind that application, without focus. Are we doing something extra to try and give Eclipse focus/input?
Moving to SWT. UI does not control if a window is opened on top of another application.
This appears to be fixed in the 2.0.2 1023 build, but not in the current stream. Was this on purpose?
Nothing has changed in SWT in this area. There is API (Shell.forceActive() and Shell.setActive()) that can be used to force a shell to the front of another application. We don't call it but you might. Moving back to UI (ping-pong).
