Description gernot CLA 2007-12-06 06:08:08 EST
There's no way to use autotext in expressions.
e.g. for adding some offset to pageNumber or to use autotext values within a text field ("value of").

Please consider allowing the use of autotext in expressions.

This is a good enhancement to have to improve the usability of Autotext.

defer to next major milestone. We need resolve most of the page-break/page-number/page-script issues together.

To support general reference to Autotext content (e.g. page numbers) in expressions will not be in scope for 2.5. This will require that generation-time expression have access to rendering-time content.

For performance considerations we will keep any rendering-time information in the Autotext report item. Please update this Bugzilla with the type of report you will like to create that you cannot currently do, so we can propose enhancements to the Autotext item to address the use case.
