While comparing against repository the zip file you attached I keep getting an OutOfMemory error. Could you tell me how is your Eclipse configured (-Xmx, -XX:PermSize, -XX:MaxPermSize etc)?

There less than 50000 files in that repository and the repository is <50mByte so can hardly be called a big file.

I guess this points in the direction of scalability problems w/.zip compare as well then?

You could be right. But I've just got the same result when I removed all the files from the zip file and left only one. This way I reduced the file size to 800KB and 1 file (there is still a lot of folders).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
