Description James Sutherland CLA 2007-10-29 15:31:16 EDT
The packageRenamer.sh and .cmd should include a comment at the start of the file giving instructions on how to use it (and how to configure the classpath).

If no, or the incorrect arguments are given to the packageRenamer class it should output a usage summary, not get a null-pointer exception which it does currently.
Comment 1 James Sutherland CLA 2007-10-29 15:38:13 EDT
it does give a usage summary in some cases, but if you ran it with just a dir name it gets null-pointer.

And the usage that it outputs does not match the shell arguments (class takes properties file, shell does not, but usage say you need to give it a properties file)

And log file should be optional, it should not fail if no log file was given. Log should overwrite, not fail if existing.

We need the usage covered in the documentation on the wiki along with a brief document in the install at:

/utils/rename/readme.html

Assigning to Peter. His install work in defining a brief readme.html with links into the wiki docs.
