When I open an external text file in Eclipse (e.g. by clicking 'Open Log' in the Error Log view), it's hard to get information about the opened file from the editor alone (e.g. the location is only available in the editor tab hover).

It would be nice if text editors on external files could register a properties page, such that File > Properties could show some information (basically the same as the Resources page, but without the path in the workspace and the derived bit).

This is not dependent on text editors.

We should
1. register a properties page for IFileStore
2. register an IFileStore adapter for IURIEditorInput

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
