For quite some time (3.2, or maybe even earlier), I'm using an unofficial command to quickly redo the last synchronization at any time and with any selection. The command can be found on the Keys preference page when you disable "Advanced > Filter uncategorized commands". It's called "Synchronize..." and is in category "Uncategorized".

The command does the same as when I click the "Synchronize..." dropdown button in the workbench or Synchronize view toolbars: It immediately resynchronizes the last synchronization, and it also works if invoked just after a restart. Could this command be made "official" in the Team category?

On a related note, I discovered the "Team > Repeat last synchronization" command, but I think its name/behaviour is a bit misleading. AFAICS, it compares the *current* selection with latest from HEAD (and thusly opens a compare editor when invoked in an editor).

Could it be that this is due to an inadvertent refactoring, and the command should in fact do what the requested command above already does? This mix-up would be supported by the fact that the "Synchronize" button in the Synchronize view's toolbar has the "Repeat last synchronization" command's actionDefinitionId (this can be seen when you assign a shortcut to the "Repeat last synchronization" command and then hover over the button).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
