When query export file is dragged to the Task List view from local folder its query is automatically imported to the Task List. However if you drag that file from the link on the web page, it will create web task linked with the dragged link. I think it should also import query. See for example http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bug_Day_September_2007#Projects
I think it would be a good candidate for Eclipse BugDay

I don't think that this is a good candidate for bugday until there is some indication that users or integrators are interested in this functionality. We haven't had much usage of import/export yet because it isn't going out until tomorrow's release, and this is advanced usage of that functionality. However, if anyone is interested in doing this for bugday please post and we can include it in our list (only 3 slots left given the policy we discussed of keeping bugday bugs under two dozen, http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn_Contributor_Reference#Bugzilla ).

I am not sure why integrator's interest should be part of the criteria for considering bugs for the BugDay. I think it should be interesting for the end users and simple to implement and generally cool feature. I think most of the bugs you've put for the bug day require significant effort and probably too complicated for the first entry. > We haven't had much usage of import/export yet because it isn't going out > until tomorrow's release, and this is advanced usage of that functionality. That is why it is even more interesting to get additional fixes while it is hot. Besides, it was you who been suggesting that projects should be publishing their queries. Publishing them on the project web page is most obvious. For example, Mylyn's own bugs page has 9 queries and it require lots mouse clicks to bring those queries into the task list. That is also why I've created bug 203814

If an integrators' bug is not part of the project's priorities the integrator should be fixing that bug. I think your argument that this is currently "interesting/hot" makes sense, I neglected to think of the overlap with bug 195660, and we're not at 24, so marking for bugday as suggested. But we shouldn't pollute this bug report with meta-discussion about what should be bugday and what should not, so I created bug 204884.
Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1]. We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub. [1] https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-mylyn
