Description Ed Willink CLA 2007-09-07 04:21:24 EDT
Contributed tasks can only be used within the same JRE. If for some reason a separate JRE has been selected, the default behaviour for me, there is no diagnostic help. This has left me fatally confused on a number of occasions. I've only finally understood it today.

Suggestion:

The ANT Launch Configuration Classpath Tab should have a Contributed Tasks folder with a strikeout and perhaps explanatory hover text when not available.

The ANT Launch Configuration JRE Tab should have a diagnostic field warning when Contributed task are suppressed; similar to the not separate JRE warning on the Environment tab.

ANT Launch Configuration Properties Tab should have strikeouts for the eclipse.home and eclipse.running properties when in a separate JRE.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
