Description Michael Illgner CLA 2002-06-13 08:22:24 EDT
a .jardesc files, created by the export wizard, has no special context menu
for export/open editor anymore, instead of opening the jar description editor,
the default editor is used. This happened after installtion of F3.

to reproduce this error,

1. Start the export wizard, select jar file, select some classes
and in the next step, save the jar description file.

2. the context menu for the resulting jardesc file has no special entries.

i cannot reproduce this
i do see the JAR entries in the context menu
Comment 2 Stephan Anft CLA 2002-06-13 09:02:01 EDT
I am able to reproduce this bug. I installed the F3 in the former F2 directory using the old F2
workspace.
Comment 3 Stephan Anft CLA 2002-06-13 09:08:12 EDT
I just reinstalled the F3 into a new directory, letting the eclipse build a new workspace for me.
After that I imported the existing project using the import wizards. Result: the jardesc file is
now recognized correctly and the context menu is displayed.

Workbench changed something regarding contribution of extension points. See bug
20093. Since it only happens sometimes and the action are contributed via
plugin.xml this bug may be related to 20093.

Erich/Dirk, can one of you post the revelant XML code that contributes this
action? I can take a look at it to see if it is related to object contribution
problem.
Comment 6 Simon Arsenault CLA 2002-06-14 10:05:16 EDT
I found the XML in org.eclipse.jdt.ui plugin for this object contribution. I
did some testing, and it is related to the object contribution problem from bug
20093.
