Description Tonny Madsen CLA 2007-08-24 04:55:04 EDT
Version: 3.3.0
Build id: I20070621-1340

Because the different perspectives in an RCP application often are much more specialized than in an IDE, you might want to limit which views that can be used or opened in different perspectives. But if you want to allow the users to layout the start page (the first perspective), then you cannot limit which views that can be used...

Tonny - it would be useful to have a single bug "RCP improvements" that references (depends on) all the concrete bugs. Could you create one?

Do you have the time/resources to help with some of the issues you reported?

In most cases, we will not be able to do much if we do not get help from the community. I am looking for someone with time to work on this, and who would be interested in becoming a committer.

Bug 201121 created.

I will see if I can help with any of the issues.

Could this perhaps be implemented using the new "activities with expression" functionality from bug 201052?

I think you could use it. An activity with an expression tied to the active perspective would allow you to completely filter out a view while a perspective is active (not in Quick Access or Show View).

I'm not sure what the implications would be if they dropped in another plugin with a perspective extension, though.

Prakash is now responsible for watching bugs in the [RCP] component area.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
