- File -> New -> File - foo.html - opens up IE on the new empty file I would expect an editor on the file or at least the default text editor in the workbench. NOTES: DJH (5/8/01 11:09:06 AM) Same behaviour for .xml files. KH (5/8/2001 11:18:54 AM) If an editor has not been associated with this file type we consult the platform. Pls double check that if you double click on .xml and .html files in the OS's file explorer ie5 is displayed. DJH (5/8/01 11:22:12 AM) Yes, IE is associated with html and xml files in the OS. Is there some way to query the OS to open the file in "edit" mode since I do have editors associated with these file types. It just seems weird to open up IE on an empty file that I just created through the wizard.
PRODUCT VERSION: 0.104a JRE on Win98
Eduardo, Please check with Veronika about using the "edit" command instead of "open"
I hacked SWT to use edit instead of open and it opened Netscape instead of IE. Once opened, Netscape showed the message "The document contain no data. Try again later or contact of server's administrator." And then it open its home page. Veronika, any sugestion?
No plans to change the current behavior.
