1. Create a java project. 2. Expand the project. 3. Select .classpath. 4. Invoke Open With Default Text Editor. Result: It takes about 7 seconds for the editor to open. 5. Close the editor. 6. Repeat step 4. Result: Another 7 seconds, and so on. This is way, way too slow for good productivity. NOTES: SA (7/12/2001 2:11:57 PM) The first time I opened the default editor, it took several seconds. This is due to class loading according to optimizeIt. However, if I close the editor and open the file again, it opens very quickly. So I could not reproduce step 5 and 6 above on windows 98.

This was caused by the Java plugin being loaded. Was fixed for 1.0
