When I have a source plug-in and the required plug-ins can't be found (e.g. because of incompatible version) I get a nice error. Now, I would really like to see the same for imported binary plug-ins.

Though the workspace compiles, missing binary plug-ins causes greif for API tooling (see bug 248122) and JDT Core/PDE UI (see long outstanding major bug 73957).

This bug causes follow-up problems from time to time, see bug 73957, bug 248122, bug 252386 and bug 288337.

Fixing this might not be too hard but make the developers life easier.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

Please remove the stalebug flag, if this issue is still relevant and can be reproduced on the latest release.
